The Easiest Way To Start Piano!

Most kid's songs  can be played using only eight keys of the piano. Songs like Twinkle Twinkle, Jingle Bells and London Bridge are easily adaptable to kid's capabilities.

We suggest using a "starting language," like PIANO BY NUMBER that makes it easy for kids to start navigating the keyboard. The old preschool piano books like Faber and Bastien, while they will eventually be useful in a child's musical education,  and are concerned only with the first eight notes of the piano, are not the best starting platform for most children at the piano.

Please visit our main website to see all the options we have for getting your child started at the piano today and finding the preschool piano book that is right for you! You can play songs on only eight keys of the piano right on our website so you can get the idea of PIANO BY NUMBER.
All piano methods start by using only the white keys of the piano. This is to avoid confusion about the black keys.

Many familiar children's songs are playable on the first 8 keys of the piano, 1-8 in numbers, and C-B if you are using letters. The truth is that children's intellectual capacities are limited, usually by age, so it is important not to overburden them with the minutiae of musical notaion, at least at first.

Playing simple songs on the first five or eight keys will improve the child's confidence at the rather intimidating piano. In fact, it is most imp[ortant at first to simplify the piano for kids, until they are ready to address the reall complexities that lie ahead.

A clever piano teacher will start with the simplest materials that will interest the child, and only later add complexity.
